This 11-volume collection presents documentary records from 10 Congresses of the CPSU, starting with the 19th (1952) and ending with the 28th (1990); these include the Extraordinary 24th Congress (1971, Vol. VI). Contents range from reports and speeches to responding comments, election results, and other proceedings. A special chapter at the end of Vol. 1 contains material related to the death of Stalin, including tributes and reports on domestic matters, such as the “Case of the Kremlin Doctors.” In addition, Vol. X of the collection covers the 19th All-Union Conference of the CPSU (1988). All of the above material was originally published in the Soviet state media, and subsequently translated and published without commentary or elaboration in the journal The Current Digest of the Soviet Press.
