Founded in 1970, this periodical successfully navigated the transition from communism to perestroika. Today, Social Sciences continues to reflect contemporary Russian scholars’ evolving approaches to social, economic and historical issues.

This peer-reviewed journal presents the most prominent papers and studies appearing in a number of sources published by the Russian Academy of Sciences. Covering the most pressing issues of Russia’s social and economic development, Social Sciences includes articles on philosophy, history, economics, politics, sociology, law, philology, psychology, ethnography, archaeology, literature and culture.
